- Información localizada: (Charles Philip Wagner; born in Putnam, Connecticut, on December 15, 1876; received A.B. degree from Yale University in 1899 and Ph.D. from Yale University in 1902; taught at the University of Michigan, as lecturer from 1904, assistant professor from 1907, associate professor from 1913, professor of Romance languages from 1916, professor of Spanish from 1930, retiring in 1947; a founder of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish, made a Knight Commander of the Order of Isabella the Catholic, by King Alfonso XIII of Spain, for his services in the promotion of Spanish-American relations, awarded the Hispanic Society of America Medal of Art and Literature in 1941, elected to the National Hall of Fame of the National Federation of Modern Language Teachers in 1962; died at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital [Ann Arbor] on May 28, 1964)
